I love transforming ideas into creative solutions.
With over 15 years of experience in the design, tech, and finance industries, I've honed my skills in various capacities, from creating compelling visuals to building cohesive brand identities. In addition to my design expertise, I've spent a decade in product management and user experience, bridging the gap between ideas and execution. My career has allowed me to work at the intersection of industries, departments, and people, where I've gained valuable experience in clarifying and communicating visions, and guiding products and services from conception to delivery.Whether it's designing a website, crafting a brand's visual identity, or analyzing and enhancing user experiences, I bring a holistic approach to every project, ensuring that the end result is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.Let's create something amazing together!
After first playing a drum set in October in 2002, I was instantly hooked and it’s been a lifelong obsession ever since.Until 2023, when I really decided to commit to drumming and pursue it more seriously as a career, it has taken the role of side-hustle or hobby. For that reason, much of this work is from the last few years as I’ve worked to build more of a presence online and in the local music scene here in Portland.I’m continuing to use this venture as a way to experiment and learn while I test what does and doesn’t work in the process of promoting my drum content. It’s been rewarding challenge that I am excited to build upon more and more as time progresses!

Wavicle is currently one of my primary musical focuses, and we’re gearing up for the release of our debut album later in 2024.I’ve always looked at the opportunity to design and manage content as an added benefit of being in a band, and Wavicle has been no different. Having made the decision to bet on myself and quit my corporate career and several other side projects in 2023, I found myself with more time to dedicate to building and honing Wavicle’s identity, and planning for our future as we attempt to share our music with a wider audience. This has led to several new ideas and ventures as I continue to discover and explore things like collaborative content design with my partner, Facebook and Instagram ads, and the potential of video-based content as modern consumption trends shift.

I was employed by Advantis Credit Union for nearly ten years—starting in the Contact Center, quickly moving to a back-office role, and eventually spending the last five years as the Digital Banking Program Manager. While my primary function was to be the interface between our internal business units and our vendors, I was able to get my hands dirty often with product release buildouts and content design. The content spans almost a decade and was often very ad-hoc in nature, lending to the scattered themes. I did some of my proudest work at this job, even if my primary role wasn’t that of a designer, and getting the opportunity to work with designers and see their process from a product- and business-focused perspective was invaluable experience that I continue to use every day.

For nearly ten years, Shannon Entropy was my primary creative outlet, both visually and sonically. I am immensely proud of the music we created, the shows we played, and the designs we released over the years. This is just a small sampling of all the content I put together for the band. Some of these were part of larger album and ep release pushes, others were simple social media posts, and our pending website redesign is at the bottom.Fun fact: that website design never ended up getting published, as the pandemic would hit and the band would eventually disband before I could find the time to complete the deployment, but I still have a fully built and functional version of it archived, just in case.

Ex-Barb was a unique project. The idea was born in 2019, when a longtime musical collaborator and I decided we were tired of seeing how serious the Portland punk scene took itself, and set out to make punk music that was lighthearted and fun.We recruited some of the best musicians we knew and started writing and recording our debut album. We played a single show in Portland in late-2019, and had another show scheduled for our album release in early-2020, but were forced to cancel it due to the coronavirus pandemic and related social restrictions. We were devastated and tried a few times to make the project work again, but it eventually lost steam and has now been shelved indefinitely. The below sticker designs were from our first merch drop, and my only aim with them was to make colorful designs that really popped and had a vaguely punk theme. We had big plans for this band and I would have loved to see them through, but I’m still very happy with what we were able to accomplish in the short time we were together.
I met Febian through mutual friends in the Portland music scene, and we worked together on several projects. One of the most notable for me was designing the website for his band, Eclisse.Febian was preparing for the release of his debut album with this project, and came to me to help with building a website to support the release and help with future marketing. We worked together to iterate through several designs and eventually settled on this single-page design that we could expand upon later. We wanted something that properly conveyed the dark, emotional themes that were featured in Eclisse’s music, and I’m very happy with the final product.I also hosted this website for Febian for several years before he eventually disbanded the project and moved out of Portland.

I was brought on by a friend to help Northwest Noggin plan their inaugural festival, colloquially dubbed “Noggin Fest”. Their goals for that first festival were general community outreach and raising funds for an upcoming trip to Washington DC to meet with members of congress. My primary task was to create a logo and put together a sponsorship packet layout to elicit donations and event funding. After iterating on several logo designs aimed at tying together the themes of neuroscience and politics, we settled on a simple design that was easy to read and would be usable for future festivals that may not carry the same political theme. We then collaborated to identify the essential information required in their sponsorship packet and worked through several designs before landing on the final version posted below. The festival was a success, and NW Noggin was able to secure all of the necessary funds for their trip to congress. My band, Shannon Entropy, also played the first few Noggin Festivals and partnered with NW Noggin at other events for many years, so I was thrilled to help and look back on our work together fondly.
